Quick Quotes

Q. Liselotte, 1-under 71. Talk us through your round a bit. How do you feel about your play?

LISELOTTE NEUMANN: You know, some little bit up and down today. Good putting, good short game, and I think starting kind of the back nine I started to get a little bit more comfortable. Started to hit the ball a little bit better and put some really good swings on it I think coming in.

Unfortunately finished up with a three-putt, but, yeah, overall it sort of got better and better as the day went.

Q. We've heard a lot of people say it's been a while since you're playing in contention on a Sunday. What is that feeling like?

LISELOTTE NEUMANN: Yeah, probably be pretty nervous tomorrow. It's a good feeling. I just love golf and love to compete. It's just the most fun thing we can do being out here, and being able to be in the last group, it's pretty special.

Q. What has your competitive schedule been like?

LISELOTTE NEUMANN: The only thing I've competed in in the last I guess year and a half, I went down to Southern California to play in the Southern California Open. Two rounds of golf down to the La Costa.

You know, sort of just wanted to see what it was felt like to be under a little bit of pressure, keeping score. But otherwise I tried to get out on the golf course quite a lot and just keeping score and so on. It's hard to feel that competitiveness when you're just at home.

Q. Right. Do you play money games with friends or...

LISELOTTE NEUMANN: Yeah, a little bit. We try to put a little bit of money out there. Nothing major. (Laughter.)

Q. Not quite like this?

LISELOTTE NEUMANN: Not quite like this, no.

Q. What do you need to do to catch Annika tomorrow?

LISELOTTE NEUMANN: You know, if I can play like how I did on the back nine, you know, my putting has to be on top and I just need to keep the ball in play a little bit better.

Struggled a bit off the tee in the beginning of the round today and just didn't hit my irons that well, so I think a little time on the driving range trying to figure out a few things.

Like I said, I did get more comfortable at the end of the day and I hit some really, really nice drives coming in on like 16, 17.

So it's in there somewhere. Just need to really slow it down. Get a little anxious out there and things gets a little quick.

Q. So you are confident going into tomorrow?

LISELOTTE NEUMANN: Yeah, I feel good about my game.

Q. What's your most outstanding or favorite memory from winning the U.S. Women's Open, about your game that week?

LISELOTTE NEUMANN: Definitely the putting. I putted so well that week. It was just a lot of greens. It reminds me a little bit of these greens with the really quick back-to-front, you just got to stay below the hole, make sure you have some uphill putts, if you get it pin-high you have those big sliders.

So, yeah, kind of remember all the good putts I made. Hopefully I can make a few tomorrow.
