Kimberly Williams

Fairfield, Connecticut, USA

Brooklawn Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. You played great today.

KIMBERLY WILLIAMS: Thanks. I hit 16 greens.

Q. You hit every green when I was following you.

KIMBERLY WILLIAMS: Thanks. I hit a lot of really good putts but I didn't make a lot them. I hit some really good putts.

I'm so absolutely beyond furious at that three-putt on the last hole. I hit two really good putts. Yeah.

Q. How did you get ready for this event?

KIMBERLY WILLIAMS: I play -- I tried to play as many LPGA events as I could. I played one, Williamsburg. I could have played a couple more but my neck was bothering me so I didn't play.

I also had to qualify because I didn't play well the last round at the last Open, so I had to go to qualifying.

So played Williamsburg and I forgot to sign up and -- but I still got in because I just did a late entry. Because I did a late entry I went to the bottom of the list. I knew I would get in, but by the time I got in the pairings were done, and it was so great because I got paired and Sung Hyun Park and Madelene Sagstrom. You know, they're like -- Sung Hyun Park, she was the No. 1 player in the world.

So it was such a great pairing for me because it made me really nervous and I didn't want to embarrass myself. You know, it was a great preparation for this to go play with two of the best players in the world.

Even though I was hitting the driver really short, it just kind of showed me what I needed to work on in my game. Needed a new driver, things like that.

I've just been home just playing a lot by myself, and then last week I went to Bethesda where I grew up because same kind of grass. So I spent last week at Bethesda, and of course where I grew up is very similar to this course.

Q. Where did you qualify?

KIMBERLY WILLIAMS: Salisbury, North Carolina. Yeah.

Q. This is not an easy golf course to do 27 holes in one day on.

KIMBERLY WILLIAMS: Well, you've known me long enough to know that I'm red headed, even though I don't look like it anymore, and I can be stubborn. I'm not in as good a shape as I was two years ago at this event, but, you know definitely getting mad to power you through. I'm red headed, stubborn.

Q. I noticed your two birdies today came on holes you bogeyed and doubled yesterday.

KIMBERLY WILLIAMS: You know what? I hit it in the rough on the on that one hole yesterday and just -- I had a terrible -- most of rough isn't that bad. I had a really bad lie in the rough yesterday on that hole and didn't hit a great shot.

So I hit a good -- I had it in the fairway today, which makes a huge difference.

Q. Tonight you get to have a long sleep.

KIMBERLY WILLIAMS: Yeah, put my feet up.

Q. You'll be going late tomorrow.

KIMBERLY WILLIAMS: Yeah, and you know, I've been at home playing too and I always walk, always walk, carry my bag, or push a cart. So it's like, Whooo, I don't have to carry my bag.

Q. What are the expectations going into the weekend?

KIMBERLY WILLIAMS: I came in here to win. You and I both know I have a long history of leading the Open on rounds that don't matter. You need to lead in the fourth round.

Yeah, I'm here to -- it's my kind of golf course. I like it, hopefully have a good weekend.
