FLORIDA CUP: EVERTON VS. MILLONARIOS

July 25, 2021

Alberto Gamero

Orlando, Florida, USA

Camping World Stadium

Millonarios F.C.

Media Conference

Everton - 1 (10), Millonarios - 1 (9)

Q How does this game against Everton --

MANAGER GAMERO: I think I liked the first half over the second half. We worked hard in high pressure and low pressure. We had great defense throughout the entire game. And I think we played a dignified game. Towards the end it became difficult. Everton is feeling strong, is looking strong. And we still played a dignified game.

As far as the second question regarding of what's it like playing in Orlando, we played alert. It was tough. The temperature was hot. But we've been practicing for this.

However Everton was tough and they've been practicing in this type of temperature as well. And when they're coming in strong, then we have to match that. And outside of that, I think we still played a very good game and it was fun playing Everton.

Q What was the conclusion of this game? And what do you think is going to -- what did you make out of this game for the Millonarios?

MANAGER GAMERO: As far as the conclusion, the most important part is that I really liked that we played man on man. And we've gotten better over the season. We were starting to dribble the ball much more efficiently and steadily, moving the ball around. And now we are laboriously kind of playing the game.

And we actually are much more calm in such a high-pressure game. We did play a high-pressure game, but we were rivaled in the end. All in all, I think we did a really good job this season, and in this game it really showed and paid off.

Q What is the plan for the coming game on Wednesday?

MANAGER GAMERO: Basically to keep the same mentality we had coming in. There are some things that we have to work on, where -- defenders coming in and moving throughout the field efficiently. There are small things that we have to work on. But I think coming in with the same mentality that we're going to go in and win games and that's -- I think we just need to keep this momentum up. We did play a tough game, and I think we can continue that in the coming days.
