THE AMUNDI EVIAN CHAMPIONSHIP

July 24, 2021

Charley Hull

Evian-les-Bains, France

Evian Resort Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Really rebounded after bogeys on 7 and 8; went 6-under over an eight-hole stretch. What did you put in your mind or tell yourself to rebound so nicely?

CHARLEY HULL: I feel like I'm in a good place at the minute. I kind of just kept focused. I knew there was plenty of birdie chances out there, yeah, I just kept in the zone.

Made quite a few birdies this week each round, so just eliminating the bogeys and the double bogeys.

Q. Does one side catch your eye more than the other?

CHARLEY HULL: Not really, no. I don't really think about it too much. It's just a good golf course. I think this is the best condition the golf course has been in.

Q. How much of an impact does that have on scores?

CHARLEY HULL: One million percent. The greens are rolling pretty nicely, so it makes it easier to hole putts.

Q. Uh-huh. Major championship. How does the game feel heading into the final round?

CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, feels good. I feel good, even though I've been feeling really tired this week. This morning I literally didn't think I could get round. I couldn't even get of the bed. But I've not been sleeping well because my hotel air con, so been poor. Yeah, I feel good.

Q. From your memory bank, is this one of your better rounds at Evian?

CHARLEY HULL: I don't know. I'm not too sure. Probably is. Probably is. But I'm not too sure.

Q. Did it feel like one of your better rounds?

CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, definitely, one million percent. I feel like my game is good condition. Like I feel good. I feel like I'm playing well.

Q. Uh-huh.

CHARLEY HULL: Yeah.

Q. What would be an ideal finish tomorrow here?

CHARLEY HULL: Anything real low, yeah.

Q. Do you have like a Top 10 or a Top 5 that you would like?

CHARLEY HULL: Top 10 is always good; Top 5 is always good. Even a win is good, so got make some more birdies tomorrow to get that win.

Q. And then any regrets about missing the Olympics?

CHARLEY HULL: No, none.

Q. Why didn't you want to go having said in the past it would be a goal?

CHARLEY HULL: Because I love playing, but the thing is with this pandemic, and the thought of being in a bubble so strict, I think isn't good for me. Like I cannot -- I don't cope very well this situations like that like mentally.

Being in my room and just the golf course is not good. With the pandemic going on, I don't know, I just feel like it's -- we've got some busy weeks, we've got two majors, Evian and then we have got the British Open as well.

So for my best preparation for the British Open I don't want to be over there and being frustrated not allowed out of my room. This is the best way I felt like I could prepare for that, which is a shame. Obviously one million percent if it wasn't this pandemic I'd have been there.
