U.S JUNIOR AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

July 23, 2021

Luke Potter

Village of Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA

The Country Club of North Carolina

Quick Quotes

Q. You birdied six of the first nine holes. Tell me about that stretch.

LUKE POTTER: Yeah, you have to stay aggressive when you're in a semifinal match. The other guy was playing really well, so got to be aggressive, and I came out and made a lot of putts.

Q. Do you think that that relates to how the tournament was going all along? Do you think this was your best match putting?

LUKE POTTER: Yeah, you know, every day I found my putting was getting better and better. If I just kept hitting it close, I knew I was reading it well so I'd roll a few putts in.

Q. You still have another year of high school. This was a great run. How does this help you going forward in your junior golf career?

LUKE POTTER: Yeah, it gives me great confidence going against the best players in junior golf, and to beat some of them, it's good. But there's still a lot of work to do. You know, this is what I signed up for, so I'm happy to be playing golf.
