U.S JUNIOR AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

July 23, 2021

Nicholas Dunlap

Village of Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA

The Country Club of North Carolina

Quick Quotes

Q. That's got to be a load off your shoulders.

NICHOLAS DUNLAP: That was a heck of a match. I think there was one bogey made between the two guys today. I didn't make one. He made some really, really good pars, kept the pressure on me. It was awesome. It was a lot of fun out there.

Q. He makes you play with him because he hits it long.

NICHOLAS DUNLAP: He does. He hit it -- he's one of the guys I've played with that hits it by me. Fortunately with Jeff I get to play with a lot of TOUR guys that do, so he did a great job, helped me stick to my game and execute every shot.

Q. You really focused on your shot on 18, took it right over the trees like he did. What did you have left? What club did you hit?

NICHOLAS DUNLAP: I had 180 yards. I tried to hit a chippy draw 8. I wasn't trying to hit it that far, obviously, but I was a little amped. The driver is the best club in my bag by far, and if I was going to go down swinging, it was going to be with that one.
