Robert Karlsson

Omaha, Nebraska, USA

Omaha Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. 68, three birdies, one bogey. What made you so consistent when other guys are struggling with bogeys today?

ROBERT KARLSSON: I think I hit quite a few fairways, even though I'm not very happy with the way I'm striking the ball, but it went pretty straight today.

Q. How is the course playing different with the wind?

ROBERT KARLSSON: The greens are much quicker today. So the guys, some of the holes are playing long. 18, I think some of the shorter hitters are going to hit a wood in there. Both me and Ernie hit a really great drive, 180 to the flag, and the guys shorter might hit a wood into it maybe, they will be well back. So kind of a little tricky at the end.

Q. What are some of the other key shots down the stretch for the leaders?

ROBERT KARLSSON: We hit 3-iron into the par-3 15th. The wind came up there. Then 13, the guys, the guys can go for it. So that can go a bit either way. I hit driver, 3-iron today. So some tough holes on the back nine. You need to stay in the fairway on these U.S. Open courses.
