NBA EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS: HAWKS VS. BUCKS

June 25, 2021

Cam Reddish

Atlanta Hawks

Game 2: Postgame

Bucks 125, Hawks 91

Q. How are you feeling physically and what was it like to play for the first time in several months?

CAM REDDISH: It felt good. I was excited to get back out there. Obviously it felt a little bit weird at first, but as the game went on, got better, got more comfortable. I'm looking forward to getting on to the next game.

Q. I know Achilles stuff can be tricky sometimes. Has that been frustrating, it kind of being a longer process to get back here?

CAM REDDISH: Yeah, I've had some frustrating days. But it's all a process, and I'm just trying to trust that process, trust the training staff and then just really go from there. I'm not trying to give it too much thought because you can think yourself into God-knows-what, so I'm just taking it day by day. I feel good right now, though.

Q. Obviously with you not having played in four months, what have your thoughts been on how this team has bounced back in the second half?

CAM REDDISH: It's been unbelievable to watch. I've been able to watch all of it, so just seeing it unfold, seeing the guys coming every day and putting that work in, seeing our camaraderie grow day by day has been pretty cool to see. I've been able to see it on TV, so it's pretty cool.

Q. Was there anything with your injury that built up over time that was nagging, or was there one moment where it happened?

CAM REDDISH: No, I was playing with it for a little while, but I was kind of just like, it is what it is. I played through a lot of different things. I didn't think too much of it. It got worse, so I had to take the precautions. But for a minute -- I didn't play too long with it, but for a little bit.

Q. You've dealt with a couple of injuries now to start your career. How frustrating is that mentally to go through that process?

CAM REDDISH: It's preparation for something. I don't know what it is, but preparation for something. Like I said, I'm not going to overthink it. It happens. I'm just going to trust God and what He has for me. That's all there is to it.

Q. When I asked Clint about your progress, he was really excited. He said that guys were excited to have you back. What has it been like having those guys there to support you throughout this?

CAM REDDISH: I don't know what I'd do without them, for real. They've been there nonstop in my ear, telling me to stay ready, that my time was coming. I took all their advice and tried to stay ready to the best of my ability, and it's been working out so far.

Q. Being in the locker room and seeing how the team played tonight, how quick do you have to get over this and get ready for Sunday? It's one game, a big loss, but you've got to get ready for Game 3 and you know Atlanta is going to be rocking when you get back.

CAM REDDISH: Yeah, for sure. It's 1-1. We came out here, got one. Now got to go back home and take care of business. I mean, I think it's pretty simple.

Q. Talk a little bit about the series so far, what you see from your perspective.

CAM REDDISH: I just think it's real competitive so far. Both sides of the floor. Guys are getting after it. Obviously they're tough. They're long, athletic, so we've got to break that down. I think we're in a good spot.

Q. Was there a certain message that Nate gave you tonight before you entered the game? Did he have expectations, or what did he say to you?

CAM REDDISH: He didn't really say anything to me when I got subbed in. Just told me to stay ready, and if the opportunity presents itself, I'll be able to get in. So I was just on the side preparing myself for this opportunity. While doing that, just being the best teammate I can possibly be. But when my time came, I was ready.
