PALMETTO CHAMPIONSHIP AT CONGAREE

June 13, 2021

Harris English

Ridgeland, South Carolina, USA

Congaree Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Took a while to get here and slept on a ten-footer for your third round, but what are your biggest take-aways from that third round?

HARRIS ENGLISH: Yeah, I feel like I did everything well yesterday. I feel good about my game. Got some good momentum going and looking forward to today.

I know it's going to be a dogfight. Put some pressure on Chesson and then see if I can get a couple under through the first four or five holes and see where it goes.

Q. I think, unlike Chesson, it's kind of an advantage for you already having a win this season. What are you drawing upon from those good vibes heading into today?

HARRIS ENGLISH: Definitely can draw from some good things at Kapalua, getting the job done late in the round. I can do that today. I love this golf course. We got some rain overnight, so it's going to play a little softer today. I would think the scores would be a little lower. Stick to my game plan and play aggressive and see what happens.

Q. How much are you going to go for broke, being a handful of shots back of the lead?

HARRIS ENGLISH: Not really. I feel like I have a good game plan this week, and I know I need to play the par-5s better than I played them yesterday. I think I played them even par. I know I can do better than that today.

Just really on those holes, just pick my spots of where to leave it because chipping and getting up and down is tough out here. You got to know where to leave the ball, and that's what I'm really going to focus on today.

Q. You've got a five-hour break in between your rounds. What do you do?

HARRIS ENGLISH: I'm going to go back to the room, probably sleep a little bit, watch some shows, kind of do my normal routine. It was kind of weird coming out for just one putt. Didn't hit balls, didn't really warm up today, just putted a little bit on the putting green. Reset, kind of go through my normal routine.

Q. Did coming out this morning kind of give you an idea of what the conditions are going to be like out there later today?

HARRIS ENGLISH: Yeah, there was definitely more moisture on the greens than we played yesterday. Putting green was a little slower. I'm sure it will speed up once the sun comes out. But, yeah, I have an idea of how the greens are rolling today and can kind of go back and be prepared for it when I come back out.
