U.S. WOMEN'S OPEN

Quick Quotes

Q. Can you give us some quick thoughts on Olympic as a U.S. Women's Open venue?

LYDIA KO: I think this was a fantastic golf course for a U.S. Open. I think it tests every part of your game. The greens are I think on the smaller side, and that's why it's even more crucial to be on the fairways.

Sometimes you hit good shots and they still end up in the rough, but I think for the majority if you hit a good shot you were rewarded, and I think that really resembles what a U.S. Open should be like and what a major championship should be like.

I enjoyed my time here. I wish I had played some golf closer to my first day and my day today, but I enjoyed it. I love this area, and you can see by the leaders it's really tricky out there.

Q. Overall thoughts on your performance this week?

LYDIA KO: Yeah, I actually played pretty solid, a few -- I think I had less than a handful of very bad shots, but then when you hit one bad shot and you're really out of position, especially at major championships, you can lose one, two, three shots out there pretty quick. At the end of the day it adds up, and it also makes it a lot tougher because of the conditions to make birdies, as well, but overall I knew it could have been better, but it could have been much worse, too.

Q. This is your tenth U.S. Women's Open. What does that mean to you?

LYDIA KO: Yeah, I was actually thinking back, and I think my first one was in 2012 at Black Wolf Run. I remember my first shot, and I hit it on the green for 2 on the par-4, and I lined up my putts and I was so nervous that I couldn't line up my birdie putt at my first U.S. Women's Open.

Considering that, a little less nerves now, even though I do get nervous, which I think is good because it means -- I think it signifies that it means a lot to me. This is, I think, the biggest major championship, so hopefully there's more in the future and hopefully I'll be able to put myself in contention and kind of embrace what it feels like just being in those last kind of few groups at a U.S. Women's Open.
