The Olympic Club
Q. Talk me through your day. How do you feel after this week?
SHANSHAN FENG: Well, I'm actually very happy about what I've done for the whole week. I know that -- well, I have a habit that I don't look at leaderboards during the tournament, so I actually had no clue where I was at.
Yeah, so I didn't even know maybe I had a chance in the middle there. Yeah, I mean, I did finish with a couple bogeys on the back nine. On this course you have to allow yourself to make mistakes.
I would say that I hit the ball super today. Just I mean didn't make any birdie putts. Yeah, the putts didn't fall.
Overall I was still a great week and really enjoyed playing at Olympic Club.
Q. So this is your I think 14th time playing U.S. Women's Open.
SHANSHAN FENG: Is it?
Q. Top finish is T4.
SHANSHAN FENG: Yeah, that's my best finish so far.
Q. Looks like it's going to be that again today. How does that make you feel?
SHANSHAN FENG: Well, so maybe telling me the older the better. Who knows, right? You would think younger the better. Maybe the other way around.
And, yeah, and I was very happy to see like Inbee, I played with Inbee the first three days actually, and to see the other players like my age are still competitive on tour, yeah, still really enjoying it.
Q. Talk about the fans today. It's been an incredible atmosphere out here.
SHANSHAN FENG: Yeah, I was so surprised that there were so many Chinese fans here. I guess they've been staying at home for so long and this is the first tournament that they can actually come on site and watch us.
So I understand that they were very excited, yeah, and I just wish if I could make a couple more putts and to make them more excited, yeah.
Q. And real fast, tell me kind of what the Women's Open means to you and being at this great course.
SHANSHAN FENG: Yeah, I mean, other than the U.S. Open we have a tournament at the Olympic Club, yeah, this is one of the -- this is one of the most -- how do I explain? Like it's one of like the top courses, like the highest.
Yeah, so I would say that I appreciate -- I'm very appreciated to the U.S. Open and other than the great course we're playing I was happy to actually have the best amateurs in the world and also the best players from other tours to come and join us for the U.S. Open.
So I think that's what makes the U.S. Open so different. And if you look up the leaderboard, I mean, I don't know if there is a playoff or not.
Q. There is.
SHANSHAN FENG: There is? Yeah, you see -- twosome or threesome?
Q. I think a threesome.
SHANSHAN FENG: So maybe Lexi made it. Maybe?
Q. Let's look. No, two.
SHANSHAN FENG: Okay. So look at this. Two Japanese, you know, playing -- I mean, like Nasa is on our tour and Yuka, I mean, I don't know her very well, but I know she's a very good player.
She plays in Japan. Yeah, you see that, we are having new faces on the tour which is great.
