Lydia Ko

Pattaya, Thailand

Siam Country Club Pattaya, Old Course

Quick Quotes

Q. Being able to get off to the fast start with the consecutive birdies, how are you feeling after the round here in Thailand?

LYDIA KO: Yeah, I feel like I played pretty solid today again. I think it's definitely nice to get off to a good start. Kind of sets pace for the day. I had a spell of pars where I couldn't really make anything going, but after a mistake I felt like I was able to kind of get back on track pretty soon after.

So that definitely helps with the momentum.

Q. You were able to rebound quite well on the back nine. What was going on? What did you say to yourself after a couple of those bogeys to be able to rebound?

LYDIA KO: Yeah, I was -- I hit a poor drive that was in like this tractor mark inside the bunker, so I pretty much had no shot. Had a very poor third shot again.

Yeah, after that I said, Hey, there are still lots of birdie opportunities, so I felt like I tried to take advantage of that.

Q. Did you feel when you were out here, especially on this 18th, that closing with the birdie there really helped push the confidence going into tomorrow?

LYDIA KO: Yeah, I had a pretty tricky chip, so to be able to make up and down from there is good. The greens were really pure by the hole, so I said, I'm just going to put a good read and commit to it and hopefully it drops.

Q. Has Sean been following from the U.S.?

LYDIA KO: I think so, but it's pretty late his time. So I don't know if he's like up watching, but he's such a huge supporter and fan of women's golf so I'm sure he is.

Q. What does it mean to you to be playing well here in Thailand after not only playing well in Singapore, but the nice string of events you've been able to put together since your win?

LYDIA KO: Yeah, I love coming over to Asia. It's been a while since we've been over here, so just enjoying this opportunity.

The golf courses are really nice, too, very different characteristics. But enjoy my time and having fun and just seeing where it takes me by the end of the week.
