HONDA LPGA THAILAND

Hee Young Park

Pattaya, Thailand

Siam Country Club Pattaya, Old Course

Quick Quotes

Q. All right, Hee Young, you went pretty low today. Take me through how you're feeling after day two.

HEE YOUNG PARK: I didn't really mistake on the course. Just try to keep on the fairway, hit the shot, and try to aim at the middle green, and if I made a putt.

But today especially my long putt was pretty good through hole 18, so really happy with that. And then I hit the mid-60 score so really happy today.

Q. You started off with those two birdies in the first three holes. What was going so right there?

HEE YOUNG PARK: Everything was perfect. Hit the driver perfect and visualize the second shot nearby pin and it went there right away.

First hole, No. 10, par-5, so it's pretty good to start it with the birdie, more chance. And then my second hole was hit it really close by pin, so it was really good start today.

Q. And then you had a birdie, birdie, eagle.

HEE YOUNG PARK: Same eagle.

Q. Yeah, the same eagle. What was going through your mind there?

HEE YOUNG PARK: I don't know. Just my caddie and I discuss, oh, you know first round we had a good eagle first round so we might be -- it happen again.

But it was a little bit longer second shot I left, but I putt off the green, I putted and made it, so it's kind of cool, like back to back.

Q. Back to back. I don't think many people can say that.

HEE YOUNG PARK: I don't think so.

Q. Being able to stay strong through the back nine, how comfortable did you feel in your game as you closed out the round?

HEE YOUNG PARK: When I played really well front nine it makes me a little bit of less pressure, too. It didn't much drop back nine compared in front nine, my putts, but still couple under par back nine and try to more figure out back nine makes easier or more makes a chance birdie.

Q. I was going to say, I saw the almost on 18 there. Despite that almost, just a solid round. What do you like most about competing back here at the Old Course?

HEE YOUNG PARK: Just I think with the condition, too, a lot of rain out there so not as much firmer than any other year. So I can attack the pin, and if I can hit the fairways, lift and clean, place a little bit of help, too.

So I think weather condition makes more play aggressive.

Q. How important is it to stay aggressive on a course like this?

HEE YOUNG PARK: Yeah, because couple par-5, even couple par-4 a lot of young girls try to make one on the green, so for me, I'm average driver distance, so I have to play little aggressive I can with the par-5, then more chance to make birdie or eagle to catch up other girls.

Q. What are you going to be focusing on tomorrow? What are some positives you take away from today as you go into the third round tomorrow?

HEE YOUNG PARK: Keep trying to same thing. Always after like round I try to play too hard with my swing, like a little bit of like inconsistent with the accuracy-wise.

So back it a little bit of loosen up, and I think keep try to repeat it same thing. Should be good result.
