HONDA LPGA THAILAND

May 6, 2021

Hannah Green

Pattaya, Thailand

Siam Country Club Pattaya, Old Course

Quick Quotes

Q. So nothing like closing out with a birdie on the last hole for a bogey-free day. How are you feeling after day one here in Thailand?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I played really well. I only missed one green today, which is always very helpful.

Yeah, obviously got some confidence from last week and previous results this year. So just trying to stay patient and try and make as many putts as possible.

Q. What was it like taking advantage of the conditions out here today? I mean, not only did we have cooler weather in the earlier morning, but also the course is playing soft.

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, it's definitely different. I feel like I guess I'm a little bit lucky this is my first time playing both Singapore and Thailand. I guess it's a lot firmer, so I guess not having experience is helpful in this situation, being able to be aggressive and attack pins.

Yeah, this morning it was really nice to have the cooler weather. Almost wanted to put another layer on. I'm not saying that right now. Yeah, it was hard to know how far the ball was flying. I think that was the only thing we were trying to judge that took a little bit of getting used to.

Yeah, it was nice, and hopefully it's not too hot the next few days.

Q. I know after the last round at Singapore you said, I really just want to hole a few more putts and make a few more birdies. You definitely did that today, and talked about it earlier. How much more comfortable do you feel in your game coming into this week than maybe even Singapore?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I think because I did shoot a low number last week, back to back is always hard to try and keep playing and make as many birdies as possible.

I feel like I've been making a lot of birdies since I've had this added length. It's just been the bogeys and the doubles that have stopped me. So this week there is a few short holes and some holes if you don't birdie it it's almost like making a bogey.

So I want to make sure that, yeah, I stay patient in this heat. It's been -- this is going to be my fourth week in a row after not playing much at all, so just want to make sure I'm putting myself in good positions and try and hang in there.

Q. You're hanging in there with an umteenth amount of consecutive rounds under par, so you definitely are keeping it in there for it round, not only this tournament but over the last few tournaments. What is something you're looking to take advantage of tomorrow as we might see some different conditions?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, again, I hit the ball really well today and missed it in the right areas. I want to make sure that I'm taking my time. This heat is kind of exhausting. It's easy to make an easy mistake, so luckily we have caddies and they can help us.

So, yeah, Nate and I just want to stay patient and make sure we're doing the best we can, like always, pretty much.

Q. How important is it on a course that can go so low to be able to be aggressive at the pins?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, it makes a big difference that we can land it straight there and having lots of wedge shots helps. It is hard. If you see other girls making birdies and you're making pars it's hard to ignore.

That's why I want to stick to my own game and hopefully have a little bit of a sleep in and get some good night's sleep. After last night with the rain and the storm I didn't get the best. Yeah, just getting lots of rest this week.
