HUGEL AIR PREMIA LA OPEN

April 24, 2021

Hannah Green

Los Angeles, California, USA

Wilshire Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. 12 straight round under par, including four in the 60s here, which I would imagine has you happy.

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, for sure. I actually didn't know that, so that's a nice surprise. I feel like obviously I guess it's known now, people will know that I hit it a little bit longer, so it's made golf courses a little bit easier. Not 100% easier.

I feel like especially Wilshire there are a couple holes where I can really take advantage of it. Yeah, it's been really nice that everything is kind of pieced together this week.

Q. You've gotten better each week with your finishes as well, then obviously the 12 straight rounds under par. What have you found in your game to click and to get you to this point?

HANNAH GREEN: I think putting has been pretty key for me, but then also hitting greens in regs. You know, now that I have shorter shots in I expect that my greens in regs will go up a bit higher. That was probably the key to me having the good results this week was making sure that I was missing it in the right areas and hitting a lot of greens.

I feel like I'm pretty close. Nate and I, my caddie, have been talking about it, and we feel like we're not far off a win.

Hopefully Thailand and Singapore, be my first time, so excited to get over there and see what can happen.

Q. Never played in those events?

HANNAH GREEN: No, be my first time. Last year would've been my first but obviously that didn't happen. I was a bit bummed about that. Just grateful we get to play there this year.

Q. I would imagine you were looking forward to playing in those.

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah.

Q. How eager are you now to get out there?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I'm really keen about seeing a new golf course. I feel like it's kind of been harder to come back to golf courses we've played and take different lines.

So, yeah, fresh course to me might actually help me a little bit. So, yeah, I'm excited about seeing a new golf course, but I don't know if I'll like the humidity, but that's -- everyone has got to handle that next couple weeks, especially since we've been wearing jumpers this week. Make that a little bit tougher.

But, no, it'll be fun. Still super excited to go there.

Q. You've had -- let me double check this -- you had birdies today at -- oh, a bogey-free day.

HANNAH GREEN: Yes.

Q. Birdies at 2, 6, 15, and then an eagle on 14. Take us through -- start with the eagle on 14. What happened there?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I guess they moved the tee up forward to us, and be able to try and hit it in one, so I had about (indiscernible - wind) meters to the front, so I just hit driver couple yards short and managed to hole a good putt there.

Was pretty frustrated with the hole previous. Didn't make a pretty easy up and down for birdie, so that was nice to at least get possibly one shot on the field.

But I felt like I am giving myself a lot of good opportunities today, but it's hard. There were some tricky pins out there and the wind -- it wasn't swirling, but slightly shifting.

So, yeah, it was hard to commit to shots when you had only half swings in or three quarter shots.

Q. When you can shoot bogey-free on this course I would imagine --

HANNAH GREEN: Happy.

Q. Yeah, pretty impressive?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I definitely take that. No doubt about that.
