Q. Seemed like the afternoon maybe played a little tougher today.

ALLY EWING: Yeah, the wind was pretty swirly for us. We got -- kept hitting some pretty good shots but just was off two or three yards here and there, which for a couple shots was just off the edge of the green, not a really great look.

Then a couple were just past the hole and kind of touchy. These greens, if you're above the hole you have to be really careful with them.

So, yeah, it was playing a little bit tougher. I definitely say I didn't execute some wedge shots that I should have.

So overall though, pleased with the round.

Q. Still top 10 right now.

ALLY EWING: Yeah.

Q. Anything can happen going into a weekend at Wilshire I would imagine.

ALLY EWING: Yeah.

Q. To shoot 2-under, you had three birdies. Any one of them stand out?

ALLY EWING: I mean, the birdie here on 18, I hit probably two of my best shots of the week both on hole 18 yesterday and today. I hit it right where I wanted to and I walked away with birdie both days.

I'd probably say those are really good in my mind right now. I hit a couple really good wedge shots - even though I said I hit some bad ones -- hit some good ones, and then you take away the three-putt on hole 17 and it's a bogey-free day.

It was a long putt. We won't kick ourselves about it.

Q. I feel like members here, if you have two birdies in your life on 18 you're probably ecstatic. That's not an easy green.

ALLY EWING: No, it's an intimidating green to hit. Very narrow. It was a pretty good number today with just a 9-iron; yesterday was an 8.

I know those pins will show up in the back and it's going to play pretty difficult once they set it in the back. You got trouble all around the hole.

Yeah, I'm certainly glad with the two that I've had so far.

Q. You're in the hunt and you probably haven't seen the leaderboard, but you got names like Sei Young, Jin Young, Jessica Korda, Brooke Henderson, yourself, Austin Ernst, the leaderboard is stacked.

ALLY EWING: Yeah.

Q. Does that make you excited as a competitor?

ALLY EWING: Yeah, I think every week we tee it up we expect the best golf from the best players, and certainly no surprise to see some of the top players in the world at the top of this leaderboard on a golf course like this.

So excited to go tee it up the next two days and give it my best shot.

Q. What do you think it'll take from yourself over the next couple days to continue to climb the leaderboard?

ALLY EWING: Like I said, these are the best players in the world. You never know if one is at the top that are -- there is a little bit of separation there. They could take it deep this week and you just don't know it.

But I think it's going to take a really good weekend, really, really solid weekend to probably get a win. But go out there and try to hit some good shots and make some putts.
