ZURICH CLASSIC OF NEW ORLEANS

April 22, 2021

Patrick Cantlay

Xander Schauffele

Avondale, Louisiana, USA

TPC Louisiana

Quick Quotes

PATRICK CANTLAY: Other than we played pretty great on the front nine. It's just kind of how best ball is. You make them in bunches it seems like. As long as you're patient, it tends to work out.

Q. I know you said it's just like any regular stroke-play event, but is there something more freeing about having a partner and going out and being aggressive?

XANDER SCHAUFFELE: Yes. It's very comforting to know Patrick is by my side. I think anyone on TOUR would say the same. We're not ones to play outside of our realm, being overaggressive. But now we'll just play our game and birdies come. That's kind of how we play golf, and fortunately it's similar for both of us.

Q. Looking ahead you guys are 2-0 in format you'll be in tomorrow. Does that give you some confidence?

PATRICK CANTLAY: Yeah, for sure. I think that's kind of why we're playing this week. We had such a good connection and energy and vibe from the Presidents Cup that we figure with this format we might as well try and bring it over here.
