HUGEL AIR PREMIA LA OPEN

April 22, 2021

Hannah Green

Los Angeles, California, USA

Wilshire Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Hannah, what a great second round here at Wilshire and great two rounds. How do you feel after the two rounds?

HANNAH GREEN: I'm definitely happy with my performance the last few weeks I've been a bit inconsistent, had a lot of bogeys on my card, and a lot of red colors on the scorecard, as well. It's been nice to finish today bogey-free and hit a lot more greens today, which was nice.

I feel like my game has been trending. I guess some people know that I've added a bit of length to my game, so it's nice to come back to golf courses and it feels a little bit easier.

Q. Going off of that, that length, what have you been working on to get that length?

HANNAH GREEN: I guess my coach and I have been working on obviously getting our club speed up, but I know that my impact position can kind of change, and that's kind of been the goal is making sure that my hands stay low and that I'm using my body to create that speed. Hopefully that can continue throughout the rest of the season.

Q. Does that mean like extra workouts, and you're wearing green right now, so Hulk Hannah?

HANNAH GREEN: I've been going to the gym quite often. I worked really hard with my trainer this off-season, so it's nice to see that I'm getting some reward with it on the golf course.

Q. Speaking of reward, what was the goal coming into this week?

HANNAH GREEN: I mean, I've been close to getting a couple top 10s the last few weeks, so I feel like I've had some good results here, I've had some good memories, so I'm hoping that I put myself in a good position this afternoon, and we'll see what happens this afternoon with the scoring and the conditions, but it's a little chillier than we're probably used to here in LA, so it's hard. The course is getting quite tough. The greens are really bouncy. I'm not really sure -- Jess is obviously playing great, so it's going to be hard to catch her, but we'll see what happens.

Q. Not many players have been able to go low, but you almost tied the 36-hole record here with minus 8 as a record and minus 7 with your scores. How do you get to get so low?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, ing I think I really capitalized when I had short clubs in today. I feel like Wilshire is a really strategic golf course. It's pretty I hard to always attack. Obviously it helps if you can hit it close and capitalize on that. A lot of us players have had putts that were close but there's so much break or they're downhill. Sometimes you've got to be defensive, but as soon as you get those uphill putts you want to make sure that you can make them. I'm hoping that I can continue to hit lots of greens and make a few putts here and there.
