Quick Quotes

Q. 64 today; what was clicking for you today that wasn't the first 36?

WEBB SIMPSON: Well, it was funny, I was a little off with ball-striking early on, but I was making putts. First round I didn't make any putts. Yesterday I putted better. Today was a lot better. You know, a key putt for me was 3; I made a 12-footer for par, and just kind of took advantage when I was in good position, and then I got out of position a few times today, like drive on 8, drive on 10, I was able to make par on 8 and then capitalize on 10 with birdie. But again, gave myself good opportunities on the back, and the putts started going in.

Q. Have you started a round this many back before? I think you were like 15 back or something like that, the way Stewart is running away with this thing?

WEBB SIMPSON: I don't know, this is definitely one of the biggest gaps I've ever had. To shoot 8-under both rounds is incredible what he did. He got himself a good five-shot lead, but I wasn't even thinking about him or the leaders when I went out today because I was so far back I was just kind of wanting to continue to build on what I've done the last two days and really the last four rounds going back to Augusta on Saturday.

Happy with where I am. We'll see what the leaders do today.

Q. When was the last time you played with Stewart?

WEBB SIMPSON: We've played a little bit this year. I think we played at RSM together. We might have played one time since then. But it was fun to see him out there with Reagan and their interactions. When you get on the golf course with Stewart and Reagan, they're acting like player and caddie. They're having fun, as usual, but I'm sure it's been fun for Stewart to see Reagan kind of come into his own as a caddie.
