Quick Quotes

Q. Walk me through this opening round, your thoughts and emotions. You've been around this course for a lot of your life. What's it like being on the opposite side of the ropes?

BRYSON NIMMER: Yeah, it was really cool. I had a great time. I obviously didn't play very well at all, and it was a tough day, but it was just so cool. I had so many people out here following me and just to have the backing of everybody was awesome. We had people cheering. I told my caddie on 10, if I make this putt I'm pretty sure it's going to be a roar as big as Tiger gets. It was awesome. I had a great time. I'm looking forward to having some fun tomorrow.

Q. It's nice to have crowds back, but you especially had a following. Was it a lot of family and friends and did it kind of get you going?

BRYSON NIMMER: Yeah, it was awesome. It was really cool. I mean, I wasn't nervous or anything. It was awesome just having them out there and kind of rooting me on and everything, and even when it was going bad, they stayed with me and kept pulling for me, which was awesome.

Q. What are some takeaways from the opening round that you'll bring into tomorrow?

BRYSON NIMMER: Yeah, I learned a lot today. I had some driver issues and some stuff I need to work on, but just going to go have fun tomorrow. I'm kind of out of it in a sense unless I do something crazy. Just go enjoy it and enjoy the moment.
