Quick Quotes

Q. You have one round under your belt, back in the clubhouse. Walk me through that opening round.

BRIAN HARMAN: Yeah, it was tough to start. Wind was really blowing, kind of picked up right as we teed off, and our entire front nine was very difficult. Kind of laid down on the back a little bit, but I hit some nice shots, made a couple putts, and I'll go get a nice sleep and get after it tomorrow.

Q. After last week at the Masters, it's a different vibe, pressure there. How does the atmosphere compare to last week?

BRIAN HARMAN: Well, obviously it's not nearly as pressure packed, but still, I feel like this is a golf course that suits me and I need to contend on. It's kind of right back after it, and the greens are firm, and the wind was going to blow a little bit, so I knew it was going to be hard mentally. It's hard coming back after last week. You just put so much into that tournament. But this is a great tournament. It's a good chance for me, so glad I could get out and hit some good shots today.

Q. I heard you got up early to get turkey Monday morning; does a successful hunt put you in the right mindset for tournament w

BRIAN HARMAN: Yeah, it's what I like to do. I like to get out and spend time in the woods, especially this time of year. Turkey hunting is one of my favorite things to do, and I knew I was going to have to play all week this week, so I've got a sweet wife that let me go Monday morning and go get one.

Q. What clubs did you hit on No. 8 and No. 16 for those birdies?

BRIAN HARMAN: 8, driver off the tee and then a 6-iron from about 185 yards.

16, I hit a driver off the tee and then 130, hit a pitching wedge up there about pin high.

Q. And those par saves at No. 14 and No. 17 were just as important to your game; how high is your confidence in the short game right now?

BRIAN HARMAN: Well, I've been working really hard on it. It's one of those things, I talked about it last week, it's just not something that I can afford to let be just okay. I've worked really hard on it, and I've started to see it sort of pay off a little bit, but I'll keep after it and see how good I can get it.
