MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 11, 2021

Brendon Todd

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. You got off to a little slow start today but made a real good finish there. Can you tell us about your round? How do you assess it today?

BRENDON TODD: For sure, yeah. I had a great warmup. I was feeling really good about today. I felt like the pins were the Sunday pins that you can kind of get a good round going, and just came out and just couldn't get it going, couldn't hole a putt basically. Had four bogeys through 6. My caddie and I just talked about staying patient and having a good process, and that yielded some birdies on the back nine, which was fun.

Q. What about that par save on No. 13; how does that rank among the best par saves you've ever had?

BRENDON TODD: Yeah, it's up there for sure. Any time you can basically eagle a par-3 for par, I can't remember one that's too much better than that for me. My first Masters I hit a ball in that tree and lost it, so a little bit of familiarity there.

Q. What did you hit in there?

BRENDON TODD: 5-wood.

Q. And then what about the birdie on No. 14? That was a pretty tricky putt it looked like.

BRENDON TODD: Absolutely. So I hit a great drive and a great 7-iron right at it, but me and my caddie knew it was going to bounce over the green unless I got a little bit lucky, so I had that putt just kind of coming off the cliff of the fringe there, and it's just a feel putt. You've got to play it out there a few feet right and get the speed right, so I was happy to see that one go in.

Q. This is your first Sunday playing at the Masters. What do you take from your performance here this week?

BRENDON TODD: I take a lot of good things. I really feel like I was doing everything in my game great in practice, and I just wasn't chipping and putting in the tournament quite as well as I wanted, and I think that's just familiarity with the grass and the greens and the grain. I think the next time I'm here I'll be much more prepared, and I think it sets up good for me tee to green if I can just get the putter dialed in.

Q. You're one of the first guys off the course so you can give us some perspective. We feel the wind; what are the leaders going to be facing this afternoon?

BRENDON TODD: Yeah, it's playing tricky. I think there's probably nine holes that are really tough pars and nine holes that you can make a birdie on, and a lot of it just depends on where the wind is. There's some holes like 6 where you're going to get the wind downwind, and getting it close to that back right pin is really difficult. Same there on 18.

You know, you're going to see some good shots that aren't rewarded, and then you're going to see some guys take advantage of those par-5s. No. 2 is playing a little bit easier, and 13 I think is a pretty favorable wind and favorable pin there.

Q. What's the best score that you'd see out here today?

BRENDON TODD: I think somebody will shoot 5-under. I just don't know if it's going to be in the last couple groups.
