MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 6, 2021

Scottie Scheffler

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Scottie, this is your second Masters, obviously your first in April. What have you seen so far with the differences in the golf course from November to April?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I would say the golf course is a lot quicker. The greens are definitely firmer. It's in great shape. The course is looking really good.

Q. Not as much rough this year. Have you kind of noticed it?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: We noticed it on a few holes. I wouldn't say it's too apparent on a lot of holes. There's definitely a few where you notice it. But like I said, the course is in fantastic shape. The greens are rolling really good. It should be a fun week.

Q. How's your game coming in here? Obviously off of a great showing at the Match Play.

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, the game feels good. I feel like everything's in good shape. Obviously, there's always a few things to clean up. Keep working on those things and keep plugging along.

Q. How's the course compared to November?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, definitely a lot faster. The greens are very firm. They've already changed colors. They're starting to look like they do very late in the week, which is a little different for a Tuesday. You usually see them like this on Saturday and Sunday, not Monday and Tuesday.

Q. Did you talk to Jordan at all after this weekend?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, he actually offered me a ride home -- or a ride over here. I didn't take him up on it. I wanted to let him celebrate with his family and all that. We're all so happy for him. It's good to see him back.

Q. Were you watching him? What did you think?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I mean, I wasn't able to watch a lot of it on Sunday. After I finished, I was able to watch a little bit, but it looked like the Jordan of old, just getting up and down, making a lot of putts, and playing some really good golf.

Q. What did you learn maybe in November that you're going to be able to use this week here at Augusta, do you think?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I feel like I'm learning a lot about this golf course every day, just there's so much to learn. I've been fortunate to have some good pairings out here, and I've got another good one this week. I'll get a lot of experience playing with Phil, and it should be fun.

Q. Have you picked the brains of the guys you played practice rounds with, learned some things?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: It's funny. A lot of guys know a lot of stuff about this golf course. Just depending on who you're paired with or who you come out to the course with, you're going to learn something, whatever it is. I think it's a lot different in competition when you watch players kind of operate around the golf course.

So practice rounds are useful, but I think playing tournament rounds is useful as well.
