BIG EAST CONFERENCE MEN'S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

March 11, 2021

R.J. Cole

New York, New York, USA

UConn Huskies

Madison Square Garden

Postgame Media Conference

UConn - 94, DePaul - 60

Q. What has changed or what's going really well with the offense lately? It seems like different parts of the season maybe you struggled a little bit, but seems like everything seems to be working right now.

R.J. COLE: I mean, right now we're just clicking on all cylinders. Right now we're really together. We have a lot of weapons. That's our big -- that's our strong point -- we have a lot of depth, a lot of scorers on our team. We're stepping up and all working together and that's really what's been working for us.

Q. Coach mentioned yesterday that he was concerned none of you guys have really played in conference tournaments before. You probably had, but did you guys feel any jitters, any nerves?

R.J. COLE: No, we've been ready to play since we got here. The energy when we got here for our first practice on the court was amazing. We just can't wait to get back out here. This is like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for everybody. Just to play on the big stage it's amazing. That's what we come to UConn for. These are the things we live for.

Q. Where does all the confidence come from that you guys are playing with right now come from?

R.J. COLE: Just believing in one another, believing in ourselves. We're very talented when we all are confident in ourselves. And it's very evident out there on the floor.

Q. The other night you obviously did a great job on Zegarowski the first time you played him. I don't know if you noticed the last couple of games, does he look like a different player the last week or so than the first couple of times you played him?

R.J. COLE: He's a good player. But we're going to have a good scout tomorrow. We can't wait to get out there and play tomorrow. That's all I've got to say about that.

Q. You had the matchup against Charlie Moore and once again I thought you had the advantage in that. Talk about how you defended him and what you tried to take away from him?

R.J. COLE: Charlie Moore, he's a good player as well. He's really good in transition. So just making sure that we're getting back on defense and keeping him in front of us. He's really good with the ball. He has counter moves. Just keep him in front of us, it works.
