SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE MEN'S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

March 11, 2021

Kobe Brown

Nashville, Tennessee, USA

Missouri Tigers

Postgame Press Conference

Missouri 73, Georgia 70

THE MODERATOR: Questions for Kobe Brown.

Q. Was there anything you saw at halftime that led you to kind of be more aggressive in the second half or was it just a matter of seeing some shots go down?

KOBE BROWN: I knew I had more to give coming into the second half. I was talking to coaches, all the coaches was telling me, I know you have more, you're doing good, but I know you have more. Yeah, I knew that I did. I just came out, tried to show more, give more. We didn't want to go home, so that's all it was.

Q. You had those two early second half threes from the top of the arc. How big were those shots for the team's confidence?

KOBE BROWN: They were big. They were big. Seeing those go in, it helped boost our confidence and our momentum a lot. I also feel like it helped free up J.T. a little bit. J.T. was able to get open easier, so I feel like it helped us down the stretch.

Q. On those three-pointers that you hit, they actually backed off of you on both of them. How does that change your mentality going into them? How much better does it feel to hit them after they back off you like that?

KOBE BROWN: Man, it was different. I never had that happen to me before. Honestly, when I first caught the ball, I didn't even notice. I was so busy trying to look at J.T. I looked down, he was way back in the lane. I just shot the shot. It's an everyday shot. Just knocked it down.

Q. Now that you've played a game against Georgia with and without Jeremiah, how much impact did he have when it came to floor spacing, getting the offense going?

KOBE BROWN: Man, he's a big help, big difference. He made it a lot easier with the rebounding, spacing the floor, being able to play through him, knowing that I'm not the only one who's going to crash or me and Mitch are partners, not the only ones going to crash. Having J.T. down there freed up a lot of people. They had to respect him. Got guys open shots. It was a big deal.

THE MODERATOR: Thanks.
