THE MODERATOR: Clevon, thank you for joining us.

CLEVON BROWN: No problem.

THE MODERATOR: Start with a quick opening statement from you on tonight's game and your reflections on the year, career, then we'll move into questions.

CLEVON BROWN: I feel really good about this year, and this game as well. As we've shown, we played hard, continued to fight, continued to compete. Just continue that way, we'll be good.

THE MODERATOR: Questions.

Q. I believe you were here for the last NCAA tournament team of Vanderbilt. How close or how far is this program from getting back there? Where is the program at right now?

CLEVON BROWN: This team is really close. I honestly believe that. I think it's just a few more games, a few more shots, a few more stops and we're right there.

Q. What is the next step for the guys to take this off-season?

CLEVON BROWN: Just continue to improve. First, you got to stay healthy. We got to compete every single game. That's really what it is. We got to turn out and win games. That's it.

Q. You mentioned this team needed to learn how to finish off. So close in so many games here. Is it just a matter of a combination of youth, the fact you didn't have the non-conference schedule thanks to COVID that this team normally would have had?

CLEVON BROWN: No, I don't think that's a problem at all. The young guys, they stepped up a lot this season. I honestly think it's just a few missed shots, a few missed shots on defense, and we're right there with a lot of games.

Q. Down double-digits at the half coming off the short rest from last night, what did you use to spur you on in the second half rally?

CLEVON BROWN: Just continue to play hard, get stops on defense, good looks on offense, just get things clicking. Got to turn things our way.

Q. How much of a leadership role does Scotty take in that situation?

CLEVON BROWN: He took a big leadership role. Every timeout, he was talking, keeping everything moving. On the court, gets everything moving.

Q. Have you made a decision on whether you want to come back for a sixth year?

CLEVON BROWN: No, I haven't really thought about it yet. I'll take these next couple days, talk to my parents, talk to my family, talk to the coaches, make a decision then.
