September 22, 2019

Wang Qiang

Wuhan, Hubei, China

THE MODERATOR: Questions in Chinese.

Q. Through other media channels, I understand that your goal this year is to go to Shenzhen. Now your ranking is 12. In Wuhan, what are your expectations?
WANG QIANG: I don't want to think too much, put too much pressure on myself. I want to keep up my game, and play the best I can in my matches.

Q. In the US Open you had a really good result. What are your goals for Wuhan this year?
WANG QIANG: I want to keep up my level of play throughout my matches.

Q. In the US Open you had a good performance. In the match against Serena, it was a big defeat. Through these matches, what are your thoughts?
WANG QIANG: Well, these are good experiences, be it a win or a loss. It is a process and we have to accept the result.

Q. Not your first time to Wuhan. Talk about your experience coming here this year in Wuhan.
WANG QIANG: Could you ask the question again. I didn't understand.

Q. After coming here this year, share some of your feelings and impressions.
WANG QIANG: Well, every year I come here for the event. I just go from the hotel to the tennis center. I didn't go to any other places.

Last year I had a good result. It feels like coming back home.
