THE CHAMPIONSHIPS

July 3, 2019

Fernando Verdasco

Wimbledon, London, England

F. VERDASCO/K. Edmund

4-6, 4-6, 7-6, 6-3, 6-4

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. How are you feeling?
FERNANDO VERDASCO: Obviously a little tired. It was a long and a hard match for many reasons. But I feel great obviously. I beat a great player, playing in his country, having most of the people supporting him.

It was a hard battle for me, but I been able to went through coming back from two sets to love. That obviously makes things even harder. I was just trying to stay in the match no matter how was the score and keep fighting, keep trying. At the end I been able to come back and win the match.

Q. Now you will have Fabbiano. You played in Dubai. What is your plan on grass because it's different? He beat Karlovic.
FERNANDO VERDASCO: Grass obviously is quite different from any surface. Is a surface that at the end we don't play -- we only play actually one month a year.

But at the end I will just try to keep doing my game, try to serving well, playing aggressive, and trying obviously my best game. Sometimes you have better days, sometimes worse. Obviously we are at Wimbledon. I will try same as I did today from the beginning till the end to do my best and to win the match.
