WASTE MANAGEMENT PHOENIX OPEN

February 2, 2019

Byeong Hun An

Scottsdale, Arizona

Q. Slow start for you today but boy what a great finish. What was -- how patient did you have to be at the start of the round?
BYEONG HUN AN: Well you have to be here, they got some short par-5s on the back nine, so just try to stay patient, try to play every hole differently, not differently but like restart, instead of trying to think about it. So I think it worked out. It was a little struggle on the front nine. And then I drove it really well today, that was a key to shoot that 5-under today.

Q. Wrong spot on 13, but I really liked how you bounced back, that up-and-down at 14. Tell me how important that was to kind of carry you into the scoring holes?
BYEONG HUN AN: Yeah, definitely, 13 was -- I left myself in a tough spot around the green, so that wasn't nice. But that up-and-down on 14 was big to go into 15, 16, 17, 18, which was nice to make three birdies in four holes. So those things definitely help the momentum I think and then some great shots on 15, the second shot to the green so definitely the up-and-down on 14 was huge.
