WESTERN & SOUTHERN OPEN

August 17, 2016

John Isner

Cincinnati, Ohio

M. RAONIC/J. Isner

7-6, 7-6

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. You said yesterday you talked about this was going to be a good match against Milos, and it was really tight. What do you think the difference was today in the match?
JOHN ISNER: Well, I mean, he just played the tiebreakers better than I did.

I knew that match could very easily have a scoreline like that. Of course you hope to be on the good side of it.

I was not. It's par for the course for pretty much all my losses this year. Been exactly like that.

Q. You talked about that yesterday a little bit as well, just about the season in general. What do you hope to tweak or change as you move forward from here?
JOHN ISNER: I haven't thought about that right now. Somehow got to play better in the big moments, which I haven't done this year at all.

So I need to -- I don't know, something has got to change. We'll see.

Q. What's next for you? Are you heading to New York or playing somewhere else first?
JOHN ISNER: No, right now just the US Open.
