STANFORD UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL MEDIA CONFERENCE

September 27, 2026

Davis Warren

Stanford, California, USA

Postgame Media Conference

Stanford 34, Georgia Tech 27

Q. Just talk about I guess kind of, first of all, the deep ball was clicking for you guys in this one. Just kind of from your perspective, what was working there?

DAVIS WARREN: Yeah, I think it obviously starts with Coach Pritch and Coach Lindy and the whole offensive staff dialing some good stuff up for us and really the guys up front. Those guys did an unbelievable job protecting, giving me time.

I feel like if I've got time, there's no throw on the field that I cannot access. So I was very prepared for some of those things. Obviously our receivers did a great job going and getting open.

So it was a total team effort and took advantage of some advantageous looks there in the first half, and they adjusted, and we adjusted with them. Just proud of the all-around work that went into that.

Q. I think you were 3 for 3 on fourth downs today. Can you talk about what's going on in your mind when it's fourth down and you have to make a pass?

DAVIS WARREN: Yeah, I wasn't -- some of those I thought were coming off the field, and we stayed out there and went for it, which I love that. You know, we got an analytics guy who I've actually had some really cool conversations with about some of that stuff, kind of nerding out about football. I love it.

We talked about before this game emptying the clip in terms of the way we're going to go out, play with our hearts on our sleeve, don't leave anything out there, and go take it. You know, we talked about that, and Coach Pritchard embodied that in going for it on fourth down.

Those were all big plays in the game. Just a ton of belief in that group to make plays and get it done.

Q. Georgia Tech had some guys in the secondary particularly that were injured, and they subbed in a lot of guys. How cognizant were you of looking for matchups to exploit?

DAVIS WARREN: That's always something we look at, getting a good feel for their personnel. Obviously they had some new guys in there and some transfers and what not, so trying to take advantage of some of that stuff.

But, again, it's about us at the end of the day. We talk about that. They can do whatever they want, trot whoever they want out there. It's what we do and how we do it that's going to make us successful.

Just a big shout-out to Coach Pritchard and Coach Lindy for putting me in those positions to be successful.

Q. Just talk about the atmosphere tonight. Really good student section, red zone. The lights were flashing red and what not. How was the atmosphere?

DAVIS WARREN: Yeah, it was great. It was awesome. We felt it. You know, felt the support of really the whole school and class getting in session this week and seeing different stuff all around campus. You could feel that for sure.

I think it comes back to -- I've told a lot of people this, but everyone who is on this team, they care deeply about this school, and they care about it as football players, and they care about it as being part of the student body.

That's such a unique part of this place. Kids living on campus, kids being a part of going to class and all that stuff, and so I think that just plays into it. Appreciate the students for showing out.

We talk about if you build it, they will come, so we got to keep building, keep winning games, and everything else will take care of itself.

Q. I'm just curious for you, what was the key to the second half success? You guys were down 10. What was the key at making that comeback?

DAVIS WARREN: I think we learned a lot from last week. Last week we were down 7 at half, and obviously came out and didn't play to our standard. So I think we just learned a lot from that and the way we had to come out at half and make some plays.

It really started up front with the big dogs. Those guys, they played their butts off. They protected super well. Then that gave time for me and the receivers to make some plays.

So started with them and obviously the defense coming up big there at the end. Just a total team effort. Really proud of this group. Love these guys, and go do it again next week.
