Q. Charles, what did you want to show the league this season when you got on the Warriors the last few --

CHARLES BASSEY: I'm sorry. I didn't hear what you said.

Q. What did you want to show the league when you came to the Warriors? What were you hoping to showcase? Do you think you did that this season?

CHARLES BASSEY: Obviously just showcase I'm an NBA player for sure. You know, it's been tough this year, just going to different teams and stuff, seeing how different teams, players approach the game and stuff, which has been great.

I've picked a lot of brains. And these teams have been different coaches, people have brains and stuff. Like I say, man, just showing I can play. I belong in this league.

Now I've done that, and they're going to be seeing more of me for sure, so yeah.

Q. Charles, what you showed in the G League and playing for multiple teams this season, how will you remember this year the most?

CHARLES BASSEY: It's a season of ups and downs for sure. I just feel like I was -- me going through all this stuff I've really locked in regardless of playing the G or being on different teams. It was a matter of like my time was coming for sure, and just put my head down and worked and did what I'm supposed to do.

Like I said, going to these different teams, picking a lot of brains and advice I got. But, like I said, I wouldn't want it any other way. But this is what happens this year, which I went through with it. I came out on top and I did what I was supposed to do to get here.

Like I said, man, it was a lot of adversity, but I came out on top, and I just got to keep working and stuff like that.

Just had my meeting with Steve and stuff like that. I'm not going to share what we talked about, but I know what I'm supposed to work on, I know what I'm supposed to do this summer, which I'm very, very excited, man.

You know, I'm excited to just get to work and just get better. Just come back any way that's going to be, yeah.

Q. Without sharing what you said with Steve and what Steve said to you, you seem like such an easy fit here. Is this a team that you would like to stay with in the future?

CHARLES BASSEY: Man, I guess we're going to find that out, right? Yeah, like I said, I came here with the little time I had, and I guess I don't know what you guys are going to say, but I mean, I guess with the little time I had here it was good.

It was great, man. Like, I was saying when I had my meeting, it was great, man. I was saying when I had my meeting, I feel like I've been here for a long time, which I was in Santa Cruz and it's like everything was, like, entwined. It was the same. So I feel like I've been here for a long time.

It was great. The connection and everything, it was good. Like, you guys are watched me play. Even when Steph told me, man, we play like we've been playing for years. So it's been great, man, just picking up (indiscernible), and this guy been -- Al, I talk to Al couple of times, even every game just, you know, being in the game defensively and stuff like that.

Like you guys know, man. These guys have rings and stuff. It's just been great playing with them and obviously picking their brains and getting better.

Like I say, man be, I just feel like I've been here for a long time, and it was great. It was a great time.

Q. What's the offseason look like for you, and what are some of the things that you want to work on?

CHARLES BASSEY: Man, trying to make me share my stuff out here, man. I'm going to work a lot. Definitely I'm going to first start with watching film, seeing what I definitely got to be better going into next year. Watch my game film, the games that I played this year.

Obviously everybody is watching the playoffs and seeing what I could bring to that next week. Anywhere I'm going to be at we're going to make the playoffs. I'll definitely start with watching film and see what I have to work and definitely get stronger and being the top shape going into next season, because I know what I did on the court requires for me to be in top shape.

But I think that's what I'm going to start with. Just see where that takes me to along the line.

Q. Charles, you seem very comfortable operating in traffic in the paint there. Where does that come from? Has that always been there, or is that something you had to develop?

CHARLES BASSEY: I mean, it's something I had to develop. You know, like I said, man, I can really score in traffic. It's like I'm just calm, you know, when I'm in that position. It's either I'm scoring or finding my teammates.

I mean all that stuff just comes with, like, watching a lot of film too, knowing where you're going to be on the floor, knowing where to pass the ball, having your hands ready to catch the ball and stuff like that.

It's just knowing the (indiscernible), because that's your time to make your play for the team, so why are you in a rush? It comes with watching film, staying ready, and just, you know, just getting ready for that moment.

Q. What do you think are the most important qualities to make a good rebounder?

CHARLES BASSEY: Definitely watch films, because I mean, I was telling one of the guys, man, every game it's always different, because every team is going to guard you different.

You know, that's one of the best thing you do. They're some games where they're going to send two. There were some games two, three guys were sent to me, which I require that respect.

But like I said, I'm always watching film every time on how I could be better, you know, and what can I do better in this game rebounding. That team watched film on me and see what they got to do better on me, so I got to see where I got to do better with them.

It's just -- because every game is not going to be the same, but how can you impact the game rebounding every time than the previous game. It's just about watching film and seeing where I could be at.

Obviously you start a game to get a feeling of how the team is going to guard you, and then you just, you know -- I adjust while the game is going on. All this comes with film because every team is going to guard you differently in the league, so yeah.
