THE MODERATOR: Questions for Cole.
Q. Over a hundred yards rushing, touchdown, win during homecoming week. How did you encapsulate this week?
COLE TABB: We prepared all week. We kind of had the mindset we knew what was going to happen. We knew we were going to find a way to come out on top. It wasn't pretty. We needed every single facet, whether it was special teams, offense, defense, till the very last second.
From the very get-go, from Monday, we knew it was going to come down to the last second. We knew we needed each other and we needed to come out on top.
Q. Talk about the performance of Elijah having to come in.
COLE TABB: Yeah, I mean, he's always composed. You know what you're going to get out of EB. He's always calm, cool, collected back there no matter what the situation is. He came back there, took the reins, led us to a win.
Q. How did you feel this week on campus with all of the alumni back? How did that help your performance?
COLE TABB: It was really cool. Like we were saying during the game, I was talking with C.J. Williams, who also had a great game, how it's bigger than us. We're playing for a much bigger thing, our culture, our school. It's a pride thing. There's thousands of people watching us, flying across the country, coming over to watch this one game for homecoming. For us to go out there and do whatever we could, perform like this, come out with the win, it means everything to us.
Q. What was the key on the third quarter drive, 94-yard drive?
COLE TABB: Yeah, obviously we were in a situation with the team, kind of looked at me in the run game. I was happy I was able to respond in the way we needed to. No play was perfect. I went out there and gave my best effort. EB made throws we needed to. Other guys on the field, Sam, C.J., people were clutch. I don't know what's more exciting than watching them play on that third quarter drive.
Q. All your wins have been here. Now you have a big game on the road. Explain your home-field advantage and on the road.
COLE TABB: Yeah, we always have a catch phrase, saying: It's us. We brand it like it doesn't matter whatever happens outside the building. All that matters is the players inside. All we got, we're all we need, we're more than enough. We have that mindset.
We've been successful at home. On the road we've struggled a little bit. We look to turn that around, show the country, the fan base, everyone what we're going to do.
Q. Four of four in the red zone. Talk about your success in the red zone.
COLE TABB: Yeah, obviously first and foremost we have Emmet Kenney back there kicking. He's clutch, going to come up with anything in 60 yards. It's a guarantee with him. We look at Coach Reich and everyone.
As we're driving down the field, we know once we get into the red zone it's a sure thing. Whether it's a run, pass, we know we're a complete offense, we know we can get it done anyway.
Q. What was your reaction to the final drive?
COLE TABB: Yeah, emotions were high. It just means more, you know what I mean? It's bigger than us. Watching that play, those 11 guys on the field are pouring their blood, sweat and tears into one play. It's a game of inches. It comes down to that little bit.
Me not being out there, but watching those guys, Matt, Teva. It's just awesome, seeing the strain they're putting forth for their brothers, their team, this community. It was awesome. So special to watch.
Thank you.
