GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS MEDIA CONFERENCE

May 15, 2025

Trayce Jackson-Davis

San Francisco, California, USA

Media Conference

Q. Trayce, obviously a different kind of season for you. How do you look back on it? I know it's just over, but how do you assess how the season went for you?

TRAYCE JACKSON-DAVIS: You've got to take the good and the bad. Coach said at the beginning of the year that the NBA is a roller coaster, so I felt like me individually, I started the year decently. Obviously we weren't winning games and we had to make a few trades. We found something that worked, and that kind of pushed me to the side.

But we were winning and I'm a team player and that's just how I am, so just being able to work on my game and staying ready and then getting the ability to play in the Playoffs I thought was a really cool experience. I played with confidence, and so I've just got to continue to take that into next year.

Q. You mentioned before the finishing wasn't great earlier in the season and you've worked on that. What other things have they told you that they want to see from you when you show up next season?

TRAYCE JACKSON-DAVIS: I really think that the biggest thing for me is just working on my body, being that vertical threat that I know I am. I felt like I was still athletic but maybe shedding a few pounds and being leaner, being quicker.

They told me that Jimmy and Draymond need someone that can finish at a high level, finish above the rim or someone that can shoot, and I know I can fill that role finishing at a high level. So just getting back to the things that I do and playing with confidence.

Q. Did what you did in the Minnesota series, how does that help you entering this summer?

TRAYCE JACKSON-DAVIS: It's just the confidence. I felt like I gained a lot of confidence from that series. I finished at a high level. It wasn't that much, but just being able to go out there with the minutes that I was given and just trying to play hard and play at a high level.

Q. How have you been working on finishing better?

TRAYCE JACKSON-DAVIS: Yeah, it's really just repetition. It's playing. We have a play group, so whenever you're not in the rotation you get to play a little bit, work on your game, more individualized and kind of what the team does or what the team needs. So just being able to do that and play through your mistakes, stuff of that nature.

Q. Every time you went in there it looked like you picked up points. What did those minutes mean to all of you guys?

TRAYCE JACKSON-DAVIS: It was great. Just trying to go out there and just play hard. Just trying to do our part. When Coach calls us, he wants us to create chaos, so that's what we do. All of the young guys, we have a great relationship. But just going out there, playing hard, and just trying to make it hard for the other team.

Q. You know Brandin very well. How did you see him navigate this season but also these Playoffs?

TRAYCE JACKSON-DAVIS: Me and BP were in the same boat a little bit, just struggling a little bit throughout the year, and that just comes and goes being a basketball player. You go through highs and lows. I'm really happy with him and how he finished off the year and he played with confidence and he found his shot a little bit in that last game yesterday.

But overall I think this is a big summer for him, and he's going to work super hard because I know how he feels. He's a competitor.

But yeah, big summer for him, and I'm ready to watch him work.

Q. Jonathan has talked about how much you guys support each other. You were saying how much of a confidence booster this series was for you. What do you think the series did for Jonathan?

TRAYCE JACKSON-DAVIS: JK, I think it showed who he is as a basketball player and how good he truly can be. He's a special, special player. Just the way that he approaches the game, I know sometimes you think kind of just looking at him, his demeanor, but he's always locked in, he's always engaged, he's always being a good teammate. So for him to go out there and show what he can do I thought was really special.
