UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT SAN ANTONIO FOOTBALL MEDIA CONFERENCE

September 24, 2022

De'Corian Clark

San Antonio, Texas, USA

Press Conference

UTSA - 52

Texas Southern - 24

THE MODERATOR: Questions.

Q. How does it feel to be 2-2?

DE'CORIAN CLARK: Of course I would like it to be better. I'm proud of the team win.

Q. What was the mood like in the locker room after the game? Were you happy with how you played or you left some stuff out there?

DE'CORIAN CLARK: I think we feel like we left a lot out there actually. We should have played better than we did, kept the same energy the whole game instead of just towards the end of the game.

Q. You ended up coming away with the school receiving yards record in this one. What was working for you out there?

DE'CORIAN CLARK: It was basically just me and both of the quarterbacks seeing eye to eye every play, so... Me connecting with them, and them knowing where I could get the ball, go get it to where nobody else can. It's just a connection.

Q. Is it meaningful for you to have that, to be in the record books?

DE'CORIAN CLARK: Absolutely. I think it's always meaningful to be a part of history of UTSA, if anything make history wherever I am. Just making a name for my myself is pretty good I think.

Q. What was the message in the locker room? It seemed like you came out with a little bit more energy.

DE'CORIAN CLARK: We had Goldust in there.

Q. Goldberg.

DE'CORIAN CLARK: Goldberg, sorry (laughter).

No, it was pretty exciting to see him. I used to watch him on WWE all the time, so yeah.

Q. He was in there at halftime?

DE'CORIAN CLARK: No, it was after the game.

Q. Frank came away with the record for passing yards. What did that mean to you?

DE'CORIAN CLARK: I honestly didn't even, like, know he broke a record until you just said it.

I'm absolutely proud of him, too. I'm also proud of Chris Carpenter. We started him, the first start, he wanted to go out there and go get it. He said he was even before he called the ball on the kickoff. Extremely proud of him.

Q. (No microphone.)

DE'CORIAN CLARK: Absolutely. One for all, all for one. Whether it's anybody... Anybody scores like that, we go down to the other side of the field and go score with them. Wait for him to come to the side so we don't get a flag, though (smiling).

Q. You have been battling some injuries as the team. How do you feel about the team health-wise?

DE'CORIAN CLARK: I feel like we're getting better, I would say, health-wise. Everybody's going to the training room trying to take care of their bodies even more day by day, so...

We're getting there.

Q. Do you think the best football is still ahead of you guys?

DE'CORIAN CLARK: Indeed. Like this game wasn't even our perfect game. Like, nobody can have a perfect game, so... There's going to be ups and downs in each game. We just have to play through it.
