CHICAGO FIRE MEDIA CONFERENCE

July 7, 2021

Boris Sekulic

Chicago, Illinois, USA

Press Conference

Chicago Fire 3, Orlando City 1

Q. Nine goals in three games, do you guys just feel like this was due? How does a team score so many so quickly after struggling to score the way you guys had earlier?

BORIS SEKULIC: What can I say, especially when we play at home, we want to win and score as much as possible. So last three games we were also, a little bit, I'd say lucky, but overall we played much better than the beginning of the season. So in the end, I think it's deserved, seven points from last three games.

Q. Would you say the last three in particular have been something of a turning point for you guys, picking up three victories and scoring three goals in each game?

BORIS SEKULIC: Well, yeah, that first game against Philadelphia, really, really strong, physical team. I think that point was very important. Though in that moment, we wanted to win. But in the end, I think it was maybe that turning point, but we will see, just seven points. We still have 20, I don't know how many exactly games, so we are still far from playoff spot. So I think we should be happy but calm and to we should try to win in the next few games, also.

Q. How do you feel like your goal allowed you to reset in the second half? Getting that right before halftime, how did that set up how you went on to play in the second half?

BORIS SEKULIC: It was like maybe perfect timing for us. Also, we were a little bit lucky first half because they had two or three very good chances, so I think that goal was really important. And then in second half, we being looked much, much better, and I think it was deserved win in the end.

Q. In general, how would you rate this three-game point stand, seven points out of 12, how would you say you guys did?

BORIS SEKULIC: I think it was not bad considering how we started. Before this national team break, we had a home game against Montréal; we lost. I think it was bad game for us, bad result for us, but we didn't play so bad. So I think our last three games, we were also a little bit lucky. But for sure it can be better, but we can be happy I think.
