LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS MEDIA CONFERENCE

June 6, 2021

Dorian Finney-Smith

Los Angeles, California, USA

Postgame Press Conference

Clippers - 126, Mavericks - 111

Q. Obviously a disappointing end to this series. How would you assess the way this team fought throughout the series to get to this point, even though it didn't end the way you wanted it to?

DORIAN FINNEY-SMITH: It just show the characteristic of this team. And it came down to the first team to win at home. And they was that team, they got us at home. We stood together. Tonight they were just a better team.

Q. What did you think of the way a couple maybe unexpected guys like Kennard and Terance Mann came through for them?

DORIAN FINNEY-SMITH: They was great for them off the bench. They got 24 points, and they ain't been scoring that much this series. It's kind of tough, you know, they're points we didn't account for. But they did a good job of being ready off the bench. Luke Kennard, he played maybe 17 minutes total, came in and played a great deal. So hat's off to them.

Q. The Clippers were favored going into this series and they were favored in each game. But I wonder when you look back on this series, are you going look back on it as one that got away considering you guys did have the 2-0 lead and lost three games at home?

DORIAN FINNEY-SMITH: Yes. We was up 2-0. We all feel like we should have won the series. Anybody come in sit down think we shouldn't have won, they're crazy. But we just couldn't find a way to win at home. Our crowd did a great job. The city did a great job of bringing the energy. We just didn't have it at home.

Q. Even though this was still the same result against the same team, did you feel like you saw Luka grow in a certain way as team leader in this series here?

DORIAN FINNEY-SMITH: This series compared to last year he was a lot more talkative than he was last year. Just being a leader that we need him to be, especially being one of the best guys on our team. He did a good job. He brought it every time. He had a great series. I mean, he had 46 -- 46 and 14. What else can you ask for?

Q. Could you tell us what happened in the latter part of the third quarter when they ended the third quarter on that 24-4 run?

DORIAN FINNEY-SMITH: I can't even recall because I got in foul trouble. So I was kind of mad when I picked up those soft fouls, especially during the closeout game. But they made shots. Marcus Morris shot the ball well. And Reggie Jackson hit some big shots. So just take off your hats to them because they figured it out and got a win at home.

THE MODERATOR: Thank you.
