LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS MEDIA CONFERENCE

May 28, 2021

Marcus Morris

Los Angeles, California, USA

Postgame Press Conference

Los Angeles Clippers 118, Dallas Mavericks 108

Q. Marcus, just take me through the conversations the last couple days having gone down 0-2, and then secondly, if you can, just you powering true your shooting struggles, had a couple threes. Just walk me through that process and getting over that hump?

MARCUS MORRIS, SR.: We just watch film and broke it down, seeing what we could do better, our defense. Our offense has been pretty good. We scored 121 points the second game and I'm not really too much worried about that. We're still scoring the ball. We need to make focus on defense.

We watched film three times as a team, and the players together and we just had to fix some things.

Q. You played on so many playoff teams, you mentioned during the regular season this is one of the best teams that you've ever been a part of as far as the togetherness and connectedness, all that stuff. When it comes to adversity and your role and basically being a stronghold to make sure everybody does what they are supposed to do, how have you received this 0-2 deficit and played your role in responding back from it?

MARCUS MORRIS, SR.: We have a lot of great teams and a lot of veterans, and the coaching staff -- it's not impossible. It's not impossible to come back from down 0-2. We just try to stick together the entire time and keep helping each other and keep talking.

It might be a good thing that we got down 0-2; so now we can battle and find out where we at and keep fighting. It was a good win for us. We're not done yet. Go back to the drawing board tomorrow and see what we can get better, and hopefully pull out a win on Sunday.

Q. Your brother was Tweeting some positivity your way during the middle of the game telling you to shoot them down. What does it mean when you have a brother that supportive and you have a support system around you when you might be having shooting struggles and you start knocking them down?

MARCUS MORRIS, SR.: It means a lot. I talked to my brother at halftime and he's like, don't even think about it, let it fly, you're the best shooter in the world. You know, it's just words of encouragement, form somebody can watch the game and seeing what's going on and being able to help you out, man, I thank him. We've been doing that since day one since we set foot in the NBA. I always look to him for encouragement and to see what he sees on the court and it just helps me.

Q. This team has been through a lot of ups and downs and playoff adversity. What did you see out of Kawhi and PG in the last 48 hours and today that you learned something new about them?

MARCUS MORRIS, SR.: I wouldn't say it was me learning anything new. Those guys kill it. No matter what's being said in the media and what's being said in the outside world, them guys come in and work their ass off every single game. They don't bitch and moan about anything. They come out and do their job and do what best he can this do and that's all he can do. No one is going to make every shot. We're with them 110 percent no matter if they play good, play bad, it's a team thing.

So they are with us and we are with them, and we are just going to keep going forward and block all the outside moves.

Q. What's it like now in this game playing the majority of your minutes -- starting at small will five in the second half, what's it like playing at that position?

MARCUS MORRIS, SR.: I made the adjustment just using my versatility seeing the floor and screening hard and just knocking down open shots. I think it's an easy adjustment for me. I've been doing it all season, so nothing really to change. You see with Kawhi and PG demanding double teams, and I'm just open -- side-to-side and knocking down my shots.

Q. Seemed like there was somewhat of an incident at the end of the game between you and Dorian Finney-Smith when he seemed to --

MARCUS MORRIS, SR.: Wasn't me.

Q. Say that again?

MARCUS MORRIS, SR.: That wasn't me. The incident wasn't between me.

Q. Do you know what the incident was, though?

MARCUS MORRIS, SR.: I don't know, man, we were just trying to win the game. We won, and, you know, I don't know who -- what was said or anything like that. I was locked into my team winning and that was it.

Q. We know you're not one to shy away from a confrontation. What do you think about Terance Mann and his fight tonight down low in the paint and playing against the big guys, playing as tough as he did, what do you think about that?

MARCUS MORRIS, SR.: I love T-Mann, I seen since last year, this guy comes in and he works every single day. He wants to be better. He's a young player in this league that's up-and-coming. He's spirited and we love that about him. He got a chance to get out there and do what he do, and need a little bit of that.
